Meet Our Principal & Founder: Joyce Francis, LMSW
Joyce Francis is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker. She earned a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Ms. Francis is the founder and principal of Omega ElderCare Services, LLC. Having received a Certificate in Gerontology from Marymount Manhattan College, Ms. Francis developed a skillset that facilitated her work as a Court Evaluator and Guardian. She successfully addressed complex cases in which she reviewed and assessed the capacity of Alleged Incapacitated Persons to manage basic and instrumental activities of daily living. She subsequently appeared before the Courts to submit written recommendations based on her findings. Court appointments led to Ms. Francis serving in two capacities, as a Guardian, and subsequently as Geriatric Care Manager to Incapacitated Persons. In both capacities, she addressed a number of issues including Discharge Planning, exploring appropriate housing options and personal care needs.

My Story
As a child, I was fascinated by my father’s patient, nurturing caregiving of his elderly aunts. His attentiveness had a profound effect on my worldview. He made me realize the importance of valuing the elderly and honoring the gift of their legacy. As an adult, my vision of founding a company with the same ethos percolated for over 20 years during which I earned my master’s degree in social work from Columbia University’s School of Social Work and a Certificate in Gerontology.
I spent a large part of my career as a Senior Corporate Paralegal and Paralegal Supervisor in New York City law firms and Fortune 500 companies. In my spare time, I was a regular volunteer on projects ranging from homeless to immigration. My experience as a Shelter Coordinator led to my being invited to join the Advisory Services Board of Columbia University’s School of Social Work.
Today, I am the founder and principal of Omega ElderCare Services, LLC (“Omega ElderCare”) and am thrilled to bring my passion for eldercare, sourced during decades of caring for family members and friends, to the wider community. Omega ElderCare is dedicated to the same compassionate standard of caregiving that I learned from my father, which is a source of great pride to me. I believe it is this quality that distinguishes Omega ElderCare from its peers.
Our mission is to facilitate the on-going care of senior adults in ways that honor their lives and support their health and well-being, always with the overriding aim of maintaining their independence, where possible. We use our resources to support senior adults to live with independence, health, dignity, and peace.
Omega ElderCare provides comprehensive consultation, care-management, and care-monitoring service, valuing the individual at every stage of life. We meticulously evaluate the support systems of each client to identify existing needs and any gaps in care. We then provide tailored, written recommendations for short-term and longer-term caregiving strategies.

Testimonials
Margaret C.
Several years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Joyce Francis. Ms. Francis was hired to oversee the best interests of my aunt and her assets in a guardianship case. I was impressed first and foremost at the kindness and gentleness with which she treated my aunt, both at home and in the hospital.
Her thoroughness, professionalism, and sensitivity seemed bound together as if molded that way. We didn't get different attributes at different times. She stayed focused on her goal of what was in the best interest of my aunt. I would recommend Ms. Joyce Francis for your eldercare needs and would definitely hire her if the need ever arose for me.

Ms. Joyce Francis, served as a court appointed evaluator for my wife. She suffered from Alzheimer's-type Dementia and spent more than three years in a rehabilitation and nursing care center.
Ms. Francis interviewed me, our four children and my wife's sister. She also interviewed the staff of the nursing facility as well as my wife. Her pleasant demeanor resulted in a rare verbal response from my wife. She toured the entire facility during her visit.
Her report was comprehensive and professional resulting in my daughter and I being named co-guardians of my wife and her property. Ms. Francis was both courteous and professional. It was a pleasure doing business with her at such a trying time.
Sincerely, A.

Joyce Francis' knowledge of the world of caregiving made working with her a soothing, satisfying and highly gratifying experience.
She calmly and patiently helped me understand our family's needs and the best way to find the care we needed.
Joyce is someone you really want to have on your team in times of need.

Having been active my whole life, I was totally unprepared when I had an accident and fractured my shoulder.
If it weren’t for Joyce Francis, I honestly do not know how I would have found the help and assistance I required. First, she spent quality time with me on the phone to assess my needs. Then she found me an aide who could come to my home and help me with everything from taking a shower, and getting dressed to making my meals.
After researching many options, she also found me the perfect company so that I could rent a Medical Recliner Chair since I was unable to sleep in my bed. They were reliable and quick. She also investigated Medicare’s policies on coverage for the chair when I felt too overwhelmed to do it myself.
I highly recommend her, and Omega ElderCare and have since sent some of my friends to use her services. She is a gem!

Ms. Francis was appointed as Geriatric Care Manager to a Flushing House resident-Mrs. S., under a Court Order.
Over the course of her 18-month tenure as Geriatric Care Manager to Mrs. S. Ms. Francis conducted herself in an exemplary manner. She was professional, diligent, responsible and an effective problem-solver. She conducted site visits, asked insightful questions and carefully assessed all aspects of Mrs. S.’s' life including her activities of daily living before crafting a Plan of Care.
Ms. Francis worked with me to relocate Mrs. S. from a studio to a one-bedroom apartment in Flushing House. She accompanied her to doctor's appointments and went shopping for clothing, household supplies, and a cell phone for her. Mrs. S. thrived under the Plan of Care developed and implemented by Ms. Francis.
