Meet Our Principal & Founder: Joyce Francis, LMSW
Joyce Francis is the founder and principal of Omega ElderCare Services, LLC. She is a New York State Licensed Master Social Worker who holds a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University. Having received a Certificate in Gerontology from Marymount Manhattan College, Ms. Francis developed a skillset that facilitated her work as a Court Evaluator and Guardian. She successfully addressed complex cases in which she reviewed and assessed the capacity of Alleged Incapacitated Persons to manage basic and instrumental activities of daily living. Subsequently, she appeared before the Courts to submit recommendations based on her findings. Court appointments led to Ms. Francis serving as a Geriatric Care Manager to Incapacitated Persons. As a Geriatric Care Manager and Eldercare Consultant, Ms. Francis has addressed a number of issues including coordinating personal care needs, exploring appropriate senior housing options, scheduling medical appointments and Discharge Planning

My Story
Eldercare is much more than ongoing crisis management - it is structured, compassionate care coordination. I help families in the NYC metropolitan area navigate complex eldercare decisions and create practical, flexible care plans.
I have been a caregiver and felt the enormity of the responsibility. My father suffered two strokes; I was convinced that a major factor in the strokes was his cognitive decline. My brilliant, kind father became detached, defensive, short-tempered, and had difficulty speaking.
As the family’s crisis manager, I assumed that the burden was mostly mine to carry. I harangued my siblings and wrote them long letters trying to explain our father’s condition. They all responded with silence. Everyone was in denial!
On the surface, I appeared calm and organized, but inside, I was emotionally adrift. I became isolated and swamped by a feeling that I later realized was grief. The experience deepened my commitment to helping others find support, stability, and relief.
Through Omega ElderCare Services, I guide clients with services including:

Ms. Joyce Francis, served as a court appointed evaluator for my wife. She suffered from Alzheimer's-type Dementia and spent more than three years in a rehabilitation and nursing care center.
Ms. Francis interviewed me, our four children and my wife's sister. She also interviewed the staff of the nursing facility as well as my wife. Her pleasant demeanor resulted in a rare verbal response from my wife. She toured the entire facility during her visit.

Having been active my whole life, I was totally unprepared when I had an accident and fractured my shoulder.
If it weren’t for Joyce Francis, I honestly do not know how I would have found the help and assistance I required. First, she spent quality time with me on the phone to assess my needs. Then she found me an aide who could come to my home and help me with everything from taking a shower, and getting dressed to making my meals.
After researching many options, she also found me the perfect company so that I could rent a Medical Recliner Chair since I was unable to sleep in my bed. They were reliable and quick. She also investigated Medicare’s policies on coverage for the chair when I felt too overwhelmed to do it myself.

Over the course of her 18-month tenure as Geriatric Care Manager to Mrs. S. Ms. Francis conducted herself in an exemplary manner. She conducted site visits, asked insightful questions and carefully assessed all aspects of Mrs. S.’s' life including her activities of daily living before crafting a Plan of Care.
